My Two Favorite Colors....

Ever wonder why they put these two colors together???

and who are "they" anyway?
you know the street people.
the people who do streets.
and stuff.
Well, the reason that "they" put those two colors together is because it gets your attention!

So why in the world has it taken the designers so long to combine these two colors?

My favorite store in Atlanta is the Container Store.
www.containerstore.com

It is literally one store in Atlanta that I could delete my entire checking account in.
I really couldn't wait to blog about this!
I am in organizational Heaven when I go in.

I literally want every thing in there.
Especially right now.
Because they have combined my two favorite colors!
A brilliant move if I must say so myself.
I guess they got the idea from me....
I have used these two colors together for two years now.
even did my own painting in them!!
but back to organization.
I am an organization FREAK!
I seriously cannot function if things in my life are out of place.
Very atypical of my "artsy" life.
I think.
or is it the other way around?
anyway.
Here are some more things you can find at The Container Store!
almost my favorite color.  Runner up.

check this out!  Brilliant! (oh, and these things really work)

LOVE this!!!
have a great day y'all!

Positive Outlooks....

Sometimes people post things on FB that are just so profound that I can't keep from posting them on my blog....
this is one.
I try my best to carry this outlook in my life but sometimes it's hard.
On of the first paintings I ever painted was called "Never Look Back"
it was painted for my niece and it just means what it is titled.
Never look back.
If you carry your disappointments with you (not just relationships but everything), they will stay with you for ever and you will always be stuck in the same rut.
Don't do it.

"Never Look Back"
Have a great day y'all!

The King is 14!!!!

What a great kid!
and lucky me got to celebrate his big day with his wonderful family.
One of the most fun, friendly, loving families I know!
Again, lucky me!!!

have I mentioned that I love this kid?  Look at Elizabeth! hehe!
Isabella brought her friend Oliver!

I love this gal.  Helen, Elizabeth's sister.  She is SO much FUN!!!

Helen and her wonderful son Sam!

They just love to have fun!!!

Michael is this super, and I mean really super basketball player.  And a Kentucky lover!
So, he got tons of Kentucky loot!

I love this!!!  Remember our trip to the Outback?  Well, if you do, then you probably remember that we slept in like the nastiest swags you've ever seen!
As a little gag gift, I found Michael a nice clean "swag"!

Happy Birthday to one fine boy
I love you buddy!

Pity Party....

I want to invite you to my pity party....
Please come!
You see, in my house, we really don't allow pity parties.
However, I'm giving myself a hall pass.
I am so damn sick of this move it is making me crazy.
Going from a 7500 sq. foot house to a 2 bedroom condo?
and I have now been moving for 5 weeks.
Well, you can just imagine.
So, yesterday I had a pity party.
and
I woke up and the party was still going on.
But you know what?
It is what it is.
Can't change it.
But the party needs to end.
I'm going to finish unpacking all of these boxes and find places to put everything TODAY.
Thank you for listening!!!
hehe
have a wonderful day y'all!

What a Day...

Okay, so I got up...the new me.  Ready to face the day with vigor and anticipation.
Completely cleaned the house, and got ready to meet "E" at The Goat Farm Art Center.
Where we were going to look at art studios.
I love her.
She is just always willing to go and do with me.
I have to say though, I was really disappointed.
What I thought would be the perfect place for me to rent studio space was not what I was expecting at all.
Bummer.
I wanted old and rustic and industrial looking, but y'all.
here are some pics.

Probably a little "too" old and cold for me.  And the studios that they had available either didn't have a window ( a big noooo) or they were too large.
So, on to Bennett Street today to look at space.
I may just stay put in the condo and paint here.
So.....
then someone was coming to get an armoire that I was giving away.  Just wanted it outta here.
There were three women moving a MAJOR heavy piece.  With no handtruck.  It was quite comical.
Injury occurred.  Look away if you don't want to see my thumb.  All I know, is I'm lucky to still have one.
yes, it hurt.  9 stitches later and almost passing out I made it to the ER where they took wonderful care of me.  (and the doctor was cute!)
Hopefully it will heal fine and won't impare my painting abilities.
Which, I finished before the accident.
By the way,,,women don't need to move furniture.
just sayin,
So,  here is the latest!
"Angel Faces"
15 x 30 mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas
325.00

have a fabulous day y'all!'

Let's Get Real....

Being the normal "doaholic" that I am, I've sort of hit a brick wall as of late.
Not sure why, maybe my creative genes have hit a roadblock.
Or maybe it's the complicated move that I've been through.
I do think creative people hit that roadblock from time to time because we are always "doing".  Brain is constantly working on the newest and greatest thing.
BUT...
I'm SO happy to say that I'M BACK!!!!
Ready to get back on that horse and ride em cowboy!
It started with no warning yesterday.
I looked at a piece that I have been staring at on the easel for 2 weeks and just went in there and started painting!
also.
I've been trying to decide whether to get a studio outside of our condo, or just paint in the studio that I have here.  It's the perfect place, but it means I virtually look at my work 24 - 7.
I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  Sometimes it's not good to constantly look at your work because you can change your art too much.  Best to just leave it be...sometimes.
Also, a studio outside here would be anywhere from 300 - 1,000 extra $$$.
hum.
Just don't know
So, here is how I usually start a painting!
It will look totally different tomorrow!!!
Stay tuned...
and have a wonderful day y'all!
