It's my VERY favorite thing about the holidays
Party Chex Mix.
Must be homemade.
Must be garlicky.
Must be juicy/buttery.
Must not have pretzels (or any of those other filler things)
Must have lots of nuts.
my quest to find the perfect Chex Mix ended yesterday when I put an ISO out on FB.
My FB friend Ronna Clark Ready provided me with her tried and true mix.
YUM.
Thank you Ronna!!!
So, yesterday I went and got all the stuff and made it this morning.
Here's how it goes.
In a large bowl, mix 3 cups of each.
Corn Chex
Wheat Chex
Rice Chex
I also added white Ceddar Cheez-it's to my mix
Add 2 cups of mixed nuts
mix it all up!
In a microwavable bowl melt 1 1/2 stick salted butter
(mine was not salted so I added some salt)
3 Tablespoons Worstershire (because I added Cheez-its I added 4)
7 dashes Tobasco
4 cloves smashed fresh garlic
1/4 tsp. onion powder
If you don't own a rubber garlic peeler, ask for one for Christmas. I'm serious.
another must have. A garlic press.
stick that in the microwave and zap about 1 1/2 minutes.
mix well
pour this over the mix and completely coat.
I used another large bowl and poured the mixture back and forth to mix completely.
You can also use a very large plastic baggie to do this.
Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour 15 min.
Enjoy!!!
I know I will.

My mom still makes this at 88 every Christmas and it's always a favorite...so excited to take that first bite!!
