I haven't read the book, nor do I care to read.
I'm also not going to get sucked in to going to the movie.
I'm already sick of all the hype about this movie.
I don't even care to have an open mind about any part of "50 Shades".
Quite frankly, I think the whole message is a BAD message for women.
I know enough about the concept of the message that the movie money mongers want you to believe. I don't want anything to do with it.
This was the very best article that I could find pertaining to "50 Shades".

As a woman and a mother of a daughter and a rape victim I, too, have decided not to read the books or see the movie. I find nothing exciting or romantic about pain and physical and emotional control over another and hope that this message does not convince young women that this is "true love". If so then all of the "hard work" we feminists did in the seventies and eighties (and all the way back to the twenties) will have been wasted. I am confused by the throngs of screaming and panting women outside the theaters who are old enough to know better. As a catholic I am not sure what religion has to do with the movie but did appreciate the message in the link so thanks for having the courage to share your thoughts and the link.
