To Market, To Market (to find a few goodies)

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking two of my favorite people to the Atlanta Mart for a little shopping excursion.  If you haven't been, you must go.....and you'll never pay retail again.
Of course you have to have the credientals to get in.  Or go with someone who does!
Here's a peek at what we found.
Sit back and enjoy!

Oh, how I love the Mart!!!
Have a great Friday Y'all.
We're headed to the Greek Festival in Birmingham tonight for some yum, yum, fun
and,,,,,time with the g'babies!

New Paintings and a Junk Yard Salad with grilled chicken and fried goat cheese!

First of all, I came home with a burning desire to paint.
Just couldn't wait to hold myself up in my art room and get to painting.
This is what resulted....
Horizon III (Price Upon Request)

Horizon IV (Price upon Request)

Row Your Boat (Price upon request)

"God's Love" (Price upon request)

Fall Rain (Price upon request)

NOW.....on to something I've been making for oh about 40 years.
It's called "the junkyard salad".  My sister named that for me years ago cause I put just about everything in it!  Actually, though, I've never met a person who doesn't like my salad. Um, even if I say so myself! "W" however, takes everything out but the lettuce.
Here we go!
Start with this.....easy huh?  It helps to have your grandfather's seasoned wooden salad bowl too.
Chop up all the veges except the lettuce
Be sure and peel the tomato.
Add lots of minced garlic, sea salt, and pepper to that equation
Mix that up really well.
next? gently shred that lettuce into small bite size pieces.  This is important.  You don't want big chunks of lettuce in that bowl
Oops,,,,don't have a pic!
------------------------pic here--------------------
oh well,,,,next use some really good EVOO. (Mine was a Christmas gift from W.  I'm down to the last bottle and can't find anymore of it :(.  Also use good balsalmic vinegar.
About 2 T each (maybe a little more vinegar)  My grandfather's rolling over in his grave right now.
He would say more oil than vinegar.  AND he would use vegetable oil and white vinegar.  I disagree.
Now,,,,,on to the chicken
yummers.
Lay the chicken tenders all out and season them with garlic powder, salt, and pepper (lots)
next heat up some of that yummy imported olive oil (straight from Italy)
with some minced garlic
(my garlic press came from Williams-Sonoma and is the best one I've ever found)
then sautee em up! oh, before I forget....I squeezed a lemon in there with them.
.....the best part.  Fried goat cheese
Here's what cha need..
First you've got to slice the goat cheese.
Secret. shu don't tell anyone.
Use dental floss for an extra clean cut
now dip each piece in a beaten egg
then dredge that goat cheese in some italian bread crumbs (coat it really well)

heat up some of that EVOO on medium and fry away.
Dudn't take too long so be careful not to burn it (like I did on a few pieces!)
hint....turn with a spatula.  Sometime the top wants to separate.  This will prevent that from happening.
And there ya have it!
Junk yard salad topped with sauteed chicken and fried goat cheese.
Yummy dinner!
Happy Tuesday y'all
and I must say....this is a "must try" dish....Your hubby (or wifey) will love you for it!

Trailer Park!

Okay, have you ever seen this?
a Trailer Park right on the beach.....
Don't you just wanna go do that?
What is it about an RV that just makes my heart flutter.
I want one.
One of those little silver shiny ones.
On another note
Seriously.  How long HAVE I been gone?????
What fun I've had!!!  and we were big wieners!
I was looking at my photos this morning and realized....we're not as young as we used to be.  Well, duh,,,,I guess that's an obvious statement since we ARE a day older than yesterday....hum
Except for this one...My partner for most of the week
We nicknamed her "Wheels" cause I would just go "yours" and she would run down every lob...and I did, and she ran.  But hey, I'm 20 yrs. her senior.
Back to "we're not as young as we used to be"
I just noticed all the paraphernalia that we wear while playing.....

Still we pushed on, through the pain,,,,,through the agony.
one of my besties "E" came to watch us play!
and I got to make a new friend!  and see an old (young) friend!
We indulged in some rather tacky vices.
Okay, beer, lottery tickets, wine, and caviar pie.....I don't think we could decide which side of the railroad tracks we belonged........
we had a great captain!
who led us to the Big "W" (we were home team)
all in all, it's been a wonderful 10 days!  Full of fun, sunshine, laughter,
and good times with good friends!
Have a great Monday Y'all!
