YIKES!

I woke up this morning in a slight panic.....
I looked at my calendar.
I have planned to go on an 8 day trip to see the kiddos while "W" is in China and India.
This week....
Today....
I looked at my calendar and realized that the Weselyan Artist Market starts in 10 days.
So?
So, this is where I stand.
Eight paintings that need to be painted.
OMG.
Really had a panic attack this a.m.....at 4:00.
Deep breath.....relax.
Not sure why I have started thriving on procrastination.
But seriously, it has become my life.
What do I do?
I'm going to pack my work up and take it with me.
Now that I've decided that,
one that I HAVE finished!

One For the History Books....

WOW, what a week...
I am a news junkie.
Addicted to the news....
I am ashamed to say that when something like what happened this week happens, I absolutely cannot pull myself away from the TV.
So many questions.
How can a seemingly simple 19 year old boy do such a thing?
I am SO amazed that this boy who was given every freedom America has to offer, who was given love from friends, opportunities to be schooled, could slap our nation in the face like this.

So proud of Boston and the United States of America.

I Love Gardening....

I really, really love gardening....I mean the way it looks.
The problem is.
I stink at it.
Every year I say I'm going to learn how to garden.
Every year I mess everything up.
In a condo, we just have a nice, small little deck.
Enough space to have a table and a few planters.
Perfect!  Maybe this year I won't mess things up.
Don't hold your breath though...
At least I can dream huh?

Boys...

I have one.
God I love that kid.
I just never dreamed God would bless me with such a sweet soul.
Never wants for anything, never complains.
Just so not needy.
Always willing to help everyone.
I was just thinking about him tonight.
I was talking to a childhood friend of J's and it reminded me of when they were all little.
Oh the days.
Goodness.  They were just so daggum hard!  Three little ones and everyone needing, needing and needing.
Sick one day, rain the next, stuck in the house, no where to go, bills, all the trials and tribulations of young 20 somethings.
And don't get me started on dinner time.

Oh how I miss it!
Actually I don't.
I'm going to go to Birmingham for a whole week next week and I can't wait!
I get to be there for everyone.
They can use me to death.
and I will love it.
but back to Gregory.
I thought about him tonight because he was a typical boy.
We decided when he was about 2 that we probably needed to instill a "code"system with him.
He inevitably would shout out ALL of our family secrets to everyone in the world who would listen.
So.  The code word was created.
Brilliant I might add.
All you have to say is that one little word and they know they better not say another word.
Or else.
If you don't have one, create one today.
I promise it will save you a world of frustrations.
It can be as simple as "potato" or something stupid like that.
It will stop them in their tracks.
Have a great night y'all!

I'm Stuck!

This "designer" needs design advice.
Geez, I do not know why it is so hard to make decisions on my own stuff when it's so easy to do it for someone else!
First of all, this is what happened.
When we moved back into the condo, we just needed something to "make do" for the extra bedroom.
We knew we wanted two queen beds in there because we had the room.
On a shoe string budget, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a "bed in a bag"
So, now I am doing EXACTLY what I used to tell my design clients not to ever do.
Make do.
My problem is that I just don't want to put money into this place since I'm not emotionally attached to it.
I wish I could just scratch it and start over but not gonna do it.
So, I'm going to paint it because it desperately needs that.
What color?
I'm really leaning towards a creamy linen color.  Also I think what I may do to add a little "Pop" is long roll pillows at the end of the bed.  I do this all the time and maybe I need to entertain another color in there.  Yep, that's what I think I need.
this might be fun!

I see a tutorial in my blog future

hum.
on another note, have I shown you this?
I found this at Scotts this weekend and am in LOVE! My kitchen is coming along.  Now I have to decide what I'm going to do with the dreary white cabinets.
and, if any of you know where I can find these placemats, please let me know!!! Or else I'm going to have to get crafty....and I hate working with burlap!
have a wonderful day y'all!

Just Stuff...

Ya know, let's just talk.
Get your coffee and let's sit and have a chat.
First of all, dang, those weekends at Scott's are killers.
I hate to complain because they are very rewarding and I sell many pieces of art, but they are just killers.
Usually Mondays I don't do a thing.
Except today.
I have a huge art show coming up in two weeks.
That means mucho painto.
In this midst of painting and working my tail off, "W" is leaving for a golf trip Wed. - Sunday, and then turning around and leaving for China and India for 7 days.  And NO, I don't want to go with him.
It would not be a fun trip.
Which brings me to another subject.
I'm going to get personal here.
Do you ever feel unappreciated?
I'm feeling a little that way right now.
I just am. Sorry, but I guess sometimes we have the right to feel that way huh?
Especially if it's warranted.
Let's get back to the art show.
It's Weselyan Artist Market
Y'all.  This is really one of the best art shows in Atlanta.
I'm not kidding.  It has grown into a spectacular event.
They have also added many new and extremely talented artists this year.
Don't miss it!
I am getting VERY busy this week and next. Very. Painting lots of new and exciting work.
I will have a mixture of churches, abstracts, and landscapes.
And, my latest!
"Softness of Spring"
24 x 30 mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas.
Have a great day y'all!

Well....

Yesterday started the new me....
At least with tennis.
See, I've been playing this ole game since I was 10 years old.
Love it, hate it, tolerate it, and then love it again....
Really love it.
Since the move and a pretty major thumb injury (remember that?)
I haven't been able to play in probably 4 or 5 months.
Which means I am terribly out of shape.
SO....
to say I was a little nervous about getting out on the court and playing AA2 Alta, was slightly intimidating.
VERY.
First, I was really a little worried that I wouldn't be able to fit into any of my tennis clothes.  I'm serious ya'll.
Lucky I found a very large outfit to squeeze my fat butt in to.
whew.
So

in my better days...
I ran a few errands after loosing the match (played really well though!  to my surprise!
And even at the number one position (obviously a sacrifice.)  We managed to pull out 7 games.
Anyway, I decided to go to Dekalb Farmers Market.
OHMYGOSH.
Came home with the most horrific migraine headache I have ever had in my entire life.  I really thought I was going to die. I'm serious ya'll.
I went straight to bed at 2:00 and just now woke up at 4 a.m.
It was bad.
But now I'm feeling someone better.
I never get sick, and never get headaches.  Don't know what in the world happened.
But, it could have been the layer of pollen on the tennis courts.
Never been like it anywhere in my life.
So, back to the Dekalb farmers market.
Y'all.  It seriously had eveything your heart desired.
I was looking specifically for these.
These are white strawberries that taste like pinapples.  If any of you know where I can find them. PLEASE let me know!!!

okay, off to Scotts today!
Remember, starts today at one and lasts until Sunday
I am in the South Building L-10, 5201.Back by the food court.
And guess what?  We are doing a raffle this week!!!
come see us!!!
