A Painting Maniac!

With Roundrop right around the corner, we as people who show their art there put it in full gear getting ready!

We are exactly 3 weeks away and to say I've been painting like a maniac is an understatement.

What is usually 3 hours a day will soon turn in to 10 hour work days.

I hope I can keep it up!

So, I have successfully restocked my watercolor feather collection especially for Roundtop!

I will also be showing about 100 signed and number giclees on watercolor paper.

(more about that later!)

My friend Cindy came over last night.  Since I do my watercolors at home I was showing her the house and said "now, beware....my watercolors are drying all over the place upstairs."  She almost had a heart attack when I opened the door!!!

Haha! I didn't realize how obsessive/complusive I've been!

Inspiration!

SO excited to present two new abstracts!

These were inspired by my oldest daughter's design in her new home.

Everything is WHITE except for a few splashes of color.  Simplistic lines with pops of elegant touches. She is keeping everything very subdued and allowing artwork, lighting, and a few magnificent pieces of furniture to take the spotlight.

Could not love that more!

The Road to Roundtop!!!

It is almost two months before Roundtop starts back up!

and I have been really lazy all summer.

so....

I am gearing up for a round of solid painting for the next 2 months!

 I cannot wait to get over to one of the most fun events of the year!!!

Once again, Lisa Moore and I will be heading out for the 15 hour drive on September 15th,

We will be there for 2 weeks and this year we will be "glampin" in an RV.

(yes, we are taking lots of decorations)

SO.....this season I have decided to tackle something I've wanted to do for a while now.

Abstracts.

I will be working on this series non stop while mixing in a bunch of my normal stuff.

Can't. Wait.

So, I started off with "The Blue Series"

This was honestly inspired by the men in blue.

Each are 30 x 30 on gallery wrapped canvas.
