What Will YOU do....

With that winning lottery ticket?
I'll admit it...."W" and I bought some.
5 numbers for each one of our kids and ourselves.
I'll of course hide mine if I win :)
So, I'm sitting here typing thinking about what I'll do with my winnings!
hum.
First, let's see, I think I'll give oh, maybe 250 million to the government.
Why of course ! don't you think they need more money?
Let's see, then I'll pay off all of my bills.  (that doesn't leave me with much....) JK
Then I'll make a few donations to my favorite charities.
Then I'll probably give each of my kids and our parents 2M
Hum...then there's our siblings, nieces and nephews.  I'll pay for all of their colleges, and put 500K in a trust for each one.
Oh, I forgot my grandkids.
For them, I'll put 5M in a trust for each of them. (because by the time they need it, it will be worth a lot more and I'll be broke so they'll have to take care of me.  Oh, that will be a stipulation when they get the money)
Then on to buying cars, houses, planes, boats.
Whatever my little heart wants.
Oh, I'm taking the lump some.
I just realized that I am now out of money......
have a great day y'all!
hope you win!

I Had to Share This....

Every now and then I'll find something on facebook that is worth sharing.
This is!
I have cried and cried after reading this.
Letter From a Mother to a Daughter:
"My dear girl, today you see I'm getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I'm going through.

If, when we talk, I repeat the same thing a thousand times, don't interrupt to say:
"You said the same thing a minute ago"....Just listen, please.  Try to remember the times when you were little and I would read the same story night after night until you would fall asleep.

When I don't want to take a bath, don't be mad and don't embarrass me.  Remember when I had to run after you making excuses and trying to get you to take a shower when you were just a girl?

When you see how ignorant I am when it comes to new technology, give me the time to learn and don't look at me that way....remember, honey, I patiently taught you how to do many things like eating appropriately, getting dressed, combing your hair and dealing with life's issues every day....today you see, I am getting old.  I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I am going through.

If I occasionally lose track of what we are talking about, give me the time to remember, and if I can't, don't be nervous, impatient or arrogant.  Just know in your heart that the most important thing for me is to be with you.

And, when my old, tired legs don't let me move as quickly as before, give me your hand the same way that I offered mine to you when you first walked.

When those days come, don't feel sad....just be with me, and understand me while I get to the end of my life with love.

I'll cherish and thank you for the gift of time and joy we shared.  With a big smile and the huge love I've always had for you, I just want to say, I love you....my darling daughter."

-unknown

Now, this really hit home.
I was the worst EVER at being patient with my mom.
and
I regret it so much.
I wish I had those days back to just enjoy my mom and not pick at everything she did wrong.
I don't, but those of you out there that still have your mom do!
So, cherish each and every day that you get to spend with your mom.
Have a great day y'all!

More Family Getogethers!

So, every year "W" and I head on down to Grandmother's house (well sort of) the Sunday after Thanksgiving to celebrate his family holiday.
His cousin Carol opens her lovely home to us every year, making the most wonderful food ever, with the help of "W"s mom.  Who by the way has NEVER cooked a bad meal.
We usually sit around discussing the outcome of the Iron Bowl.
This year?  hehe.  Wadn't much to discuss except for the fact that Auburn FINALLY fired their joke of a coach.  Now if they will just get rid of their AD, this BAMA girl will be proud of the state of Alabama.
Now, his family is so different than mine.  It's amazing that we've been able to stay married for 31 years!
His family is totally unassuming, Godly, down to earth.
Okay, I realize what you're thinking!
Mine?
Assuming, non-Godly, stuck up?
NO!!
hehe
his family and mine are just different that's all.  Wonderful all in their own right!
and I love them all equally!
There is something so comfortable about going down South to this family gathering.  Getting to see everyone, seeing how their kids have grown.  Having the feeling that Mother time needs to stop right now.
She does.
So...I am in the Christmas spirit!!!
I can't believe it!
I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of Christmas to be honest.  I LOVE thanksgiving, because it's all about giving thanks.  But Christmas?  It just saddens me that the true meaning of Christmas has been diluted by commercialism.  It's just me.
Oh, stay tuned!
Next week I'm giving away a painting for Christmas!!!
now, on to more important things!  Of course I took pics!

Hey Bean, hey Bean, hey Bean....let's talk football....
 sweet cousins!

Small Bidness Saturday....

Well, at least I'm feeling [a little] better....
Enough to jump on the bandwagon and promote "Small Business Saturday"
Now.  I am a BIG fan of shopping in small businesses.  Always have been.
I just love the quaintness and extra special care you get at a small business.
It is the heartbeat of America y'all!
So, since I am a small business myself, I might as well promote myself!
Here we go!
Isn't this picture totally random?
Very professional I might add.
Sorry!  I'm on my other computer.  The one that doesn't have pics of my art.
If you have any questions on sizes, availability, prices, making a purchase, please contact me at kbdr@aol.com
This is a sampling of art that will be at Brentwood Academy Art Show and Sale starting this Friday - Sunday.  But, any of these pieces can be shipped out on Monday! I also take paypal and all credit cards!
thanks y'all!

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!!!!

I'm sitting here at J and E's house snuggled up in their bed.
Sick.
Isn't that a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving?
I physically made every dish except the ham, and the deviled eggs, oh and a few deserts.
And let me tell ya folks....we had ALOT of food.
I think I have what I like to call "stress sickness".
It starts as a head cold and moves to my chest causing a terrible case of laryngitis.
It drives "W" crazy because I can't talk for days.
And....me being the talker that I am, you can just imagine how frustrating it is for me!
I made it through the day only to leave early and spare everyone the germs that I know I'm spreading.

I am SO thankful for my family.  Even though we only had Callen there with us to celebrate, it was wonderful to see my fantastic siblings and spend time with their offspring.
Sad that they all have to grow up and have obligations with their significant other's families.
But, I totally understand.
So, every year I stand in awe of the beauty that my nieces and nephews present.
Not just in looks, but just in their sweet souls.  I am so proud of how my brothers and sister have raised their kids.  They have done such a terrific job.
And, um, mine, well, let's just say I'm a little prejudice.
So,,,of course,,,I took a lot of pictures!!!
We all have so much fun!!! A Martha in the making is what this sweet godchild/niece of mine is!!!
we "make do" with what we have.  Meaning a lot of mismatched chairs for a beautiful table!
 Sister and kids
 Who are like my own!

 enough said....

 another Godchild/niece Claire

 my sweet daddy

the most important part of the day, the blessing!
We ate to our hearts content!
brother Clay and kids with daddy and Cynthia
brother Jack and three of his kids (they have 5) and my daddy
sister and kids with daddy.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day!!!!
Sleep tight!

Let the Fun Begin!!!!!

Ya know, when your kids grow up and get married they have decisions to make about holidays.
It's hard, I remember those days, having to decide which family to spend the holidays with.
So, J and E spend Thanksgiving with E's fam and Christmas with us.
This year G and A will spend Thanksgiving with A's family.
So, we will only have one here for Thanksgiving :(
but, I understand, like I said, I remember those days.
So, I came to Birmingham Monday to spend some quality time with my family.
Turns out, we will still have 20 for Thanksgiving day.
I have a big family.....
but, why did I buy a 24 lb bird?
I mean, that's over a lb. a person.
We are going to be eating turkey for the rest of our lives!
Seriously folks, I could barely pick that durn thing up!
Anyway, so last night we all went to Mexican for din.
Wonderful time was had!

 Let the fun begin!!!
Hope you have a fun day too!
Be safe out there!!!

What Are You Thankful For?

Today, even though I'm missing my mom because she always loved the week of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all she did for me while she was alive.
I'm thankful that I have 2 wonderful brothers and a super wonderful sister.
I am thankful that God has blessed me with a wonderful father
I am thankful that I have 3 beautiful and equally wonderful children

and I'm thankful for the choices they've made in their mates.

I'm so thankful for my three grandchildren whom I love more than life itself
and I am so glad that I have a husband that loves me and supports me in all my crazy ventures!
and for friends that love me despite all my quirks!

Today.  I am thankful!
God bless you this Thanksgiving!
Have a wonderful day y'all!
