Have You Been to Madewell yet?

It's a different kinda store.

When my youngest daughter/fashionista told me about this shoppe, I knew I had to check it out.

But, I completely forgot!

Then I saw the cutest pair of loafers on a fashion blog.

I knew I needed this shoppe.

Kind of a "weekend wear" sorta place.

Not really J. Crew, not Anthro, more expensive than Urban Outfitters, not racy like Abercrombie.

I think this may be on my top of "new favorites!"

and...

I'm a "weekend wear" kinda girl!

this jacket is on my Christmas list!

and these loafers are on my "must have" today list!

Wedding Wednesday....How's that wedding goin?

Okay.

I'll admit it.

I'm a little behind.

Like two months behind...

I am literally just now getting the Save the Dates out.

2 months late.

I will say however, that we used to not even send those things out!

It is a great idea though especially when you have a March 8th wedding!

Spring break may interfere with the big day.

Anyway,

the first thing we did was meet with a graphic designer/calligrapher.

It got my sweet third child going in a certain direction.

So, back to the Save the Dates.

They wanted simple, elegant.

No picture, just pure simpleness.

I wish I could show you the STDs because they are beautiful!

but, since I am just now getting them out, I can't spoil the surprise!

I did however go to the ole Pinterest board and see what I could find for other STD examples.

Some really clever!

and, nothing like ours at all.

(which is a good thing)

next week?

Giving Thanks!

Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday.

I love every part about it, from the planning, cooking, eating, cleaning up (hum), 

football watchin, eating again, naps, seeing family.

the only thing I don't like about Thanksgiving?

 leaving family for shopping.

I don't like crowds ATALL and I can't stand the commercialism of the holidays.

So.... every year sister and I do a big Thanksgiving feast!

I used to do it at the lake, but after mother got sick we moved it to Birmingham.

We always do it outside and luckily the weather has held out for the past 3 years!

Sister lets me decorate and actually lets me do all the cooking.

Because I like to!

The kids all pitch in and help with the decorating.

The guys move all the furniture around.

We have about 30 every year.

It's wonderful seeing everyone.

I love family...

so, I went to Pinterest to get some new ideas for this year's Thanksgiving!

"Wedding Wednesday" Party Favors!!!

There was a five year period where all the party favors were the Candy Bars.

While fun and yummy, they are extremely costly and an expense that quite frankly I'm not sure gets the "bang for the buck"

And then again, there was a time that nothing was done in terms of party favors...
hum.

The wedding industry keeps changing the rules on us.

Ultimately ending in spending more money for your wedding. Go figure!

I've been searching Pinterest trying to find the most unique, fun, interesting and economical wedding favors!

We want THE best party favors ever!  But, nothing too "hokey".

Probably something that I will end up making myself.

You know I'm a big fan of DIY.
