I was up at 3:45 this a.m. 

Course I went to bed at 7:30.

have you ever driven from Birmingham to Memphis and immediately back in the same day?

Utterly exhausting.

Ya know, it's just THE most boring trip EVER.

SO, we leave today for Noleans.

With the WHOLE family!

What does that mean? FUN!!!

This year Houston and Ames are coming with us and he is running the 1/2 marathon with my baby.

I think Gregory is running too, but not sure.

Then tons of sightseeing, gambling (um, my favorite) and most importantly FOOD!!!

If any of you out there have a favorite place to eat, PLEASE tell me!!!

We are looking for somewhere that we can get loud, drink some wine and beer, and maybe even a place that has a TV.  UM, lots of good football on this weekend if you don't already know that!

SO, off we go!

What a Week.....

I've got ahead of me!  Whew, I'm tired just thinkin about it!

oh wait, it's Wed. the week is halfway over.

First, let me show you what I stole from my friend Slim Paley

this is so seriously me.

I crash about 9:30 and get up usually around 4:30.  This morning it was 4:00

BTW check out Slim's new blog. She just redesigned it and it looks mavalous.

hehe.  I was sittin in the nail salon the other day gettin a mani-pedi and there she popped up on TV.

Lookin all glamerous and stuff.

anyway,,,,,back to my week.

First of all, this a.m. I am prepping a MAJOR canvas for a VERY large painting.

(hey Susan)!  Didn't get to it yesterday, but today's the day.

Have another commission on the working table and just finished two others.

If you have a commission in mind for Christmas, hurry and order as my days are really getting busy.

SO, packing nighmare.

I leave today to go to Birmingham.

Spend the night there and get up early to drive to Collierville, Tennessee.

It is a MUST GO TO event.

So really, really wonderful artists will be attending and selling their wonderful art.

It will be next weekend (not this weekend)

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Then, I zip back to Birmingham, and on to New Orleans on Friday

Callen and Houston (and I think Gregory) will be running in the half marathon down there on Saturday.

We did this with the whole family (we will all be there this year too!) and it was SOOOOOO much fun!!!

This year will be partifularly exciting because Callen will have wonderful Houston to run with her.

Have I mentioned how much I love that guy.

 so then back to Atlanta for a week and then back to Collierville for the actual art sale.

Lovin Abstracts.....

You know one of my good friends commented that my abstract "Moving Heaven and Earth" needed it's own blog!

I agree!

I happen to love this piece.  So much that I painted two smaller pieces to compliment it.

Abstracts are funny.

Ya know they are really hard to paint!  How many times have you seen an abstract and said "oh even "I" could paint that!!!  I've done it time and time again.

Better just to start from scratch and feel your way through it.

My Goal is to Rid Myself.....

First, I have to tell you....My condo manager wants "W" and me to watch the video of Cooper and me stuck in the elevator for 1 hr. and 47 min.

Yes.  they were videoing me.

First of all, I have REALLY thick tennis calves and boots without elastic in them are just not comfortable.  AND it is usually impossible to stick pants in them.

SO, out these go as much as I hate it.  They were a special gift from "W"

Update on the Sewer's Sale.....

Just a quick update on the sale of Mother's fabrics, smocking plates, books, etc.....

ALL of the Creative Needle books have been SOLD!

but there are Sew Beautiful ones left.

ATTENTION all sewers and smockers out there!!!

As some of you already know, my mother was a master sewer and an expert smocker.

She left us with literally 100s of Sew Beautiful magazines (out of production), Children's Corner patterns, fabrics and smocking plates.  Seriously, you wouldn't believe all of the stuff.  She even left us with half made outfits that are neatly packaged with the patterns (some already smocked and ready to be put together with the lace included!)

Anyway, sister is having a sale.  These things are actually very valuable.

The sale will be held at sister's house in Vestavia, AL THIS Friday and Saturday
