Let's See....

Yesterday we got up and decided we needed to get ourselves organized and start planning the rest of the trip.

Australia is a huge country (it is also considered to be a continent)

Fact for the day!

Anyway, we decided to do the ole tourist stuff for the day.

 We took a Ferry ride over to an island so we could see the sights from the water and turned around and came back

 Albeit a little windy and chilly, the weather was spectacular!!! (it looks like we superimposed Michael in this pic dudn't it!!)

that Michael is as amazing as his mom.  I've decided he's my second son.  He is SOMUCHFUN y'all!

I mean I have learned more facts in 3 days than I've ever known in my whole life!!! He is brilliant!

So we went down to the harbour to get a bit of food and there was this awesome street performers! 

 he put his whole body in the head of a tennis raquet

 then he wrapped himself in chains and got out!  He really was an amazing performer

 everything was lit up like a huge party.  This is a vacation weekend (not sure what vaca) but  it is a very festive atmosphere!

today?

a driver is picking us up at 8 a.m. and taking us to see something called the Blue Mountains and then to a sheep farm. We are going to get to see the sheep being sheered and how they make the fur into wool. This is going to be so much fun!!

It is about 3 a.m. and boy is my time body mixed up!

Hollywhere?

Okay, E and I decided when we planned this trip that every day we would do something physical.

HUM.

We got up yesterday morning which now is 2 days ago in the US.  Don't ask, it's complicated.

We all decided to go on bike rides down to Venice Beach and show Michael what his life [could] would be like if he chose the wrong path..... Or he could do this!!! These guys really were amazing!

I thought about going in to the Botox on the Beach....

Remember the Hollywood sign that I posted yesterday?

Well, we then decided to hire a driver to take us to the bottom of the mountains and hike all the way up up to it.

Our driver said "oh, it's about a quarter of a mile up there.

 this was the halfway point, those horses were lookin perty darn good by now

 It wasn't a straight shot up to the sign, curvy, steep dirt paths all the way up.  But, again, I didn't forget those pearls!!!

 this was a far as we went.  We didn't get to touch the sign but had a great 6 mile workout.

I just thought E looked funny carrying her Chanel handbag wearing a Captain America hat.  And we were on dusty dirt roads.  Had to snap a shot of it!!! 

 then we went to Rodeo drive baby!

and then we got on the plane!

Now I'm sitting here with Michael in Sydney waiting for our rooms to be ready.

It's June 6th here.  Weird huh?

A Fun-ny Day

Two blondes, one smart (very) and one just taggin along (pretty much a dumb blonde).  Then one brilliant 13 yr. old.

So, E rented a car yesterday for us to see the Great Sequoias.

Enter Concierge.

Sent us to a park about an hour away

only to find these!

 beautiful mind you!, but not exactly what we were looking for.

 but we got a great hike out of it!  We really didn't have on the proper gear! AT ALL! We then decided to eat at......OUTback!!! Getting ready for the 2nd part of our trip!!

So, I went in the bathroom, prayed that no one would come in and disturb me sticking my feet in the sink to wash them off.  I looked at myself and realized I was wearing my pearls! I had to crack up laughing at myself wondering what the other hikers were thinking about us on our 3 mile hike.

 So, we decided to go to Hollywood. This was someone famous' house, I just know it, so I took a pic

 plus I loved it.

We were in total tourist mode.  Only things missing were the calf high socks and waist packs

Since I've met him (another blog) this was my favorite star

this is the closest I will get to having one of these!!!

then, we decided to get a limo for an hour and have them take us on a tourist trip, you know, the Hollywood sign, stars homes, the whole package.

Well.....E payed the guy and he  told us it would be 5 minutes.  30 min. later the limo was not there.

About 45 min. waiting we were all ready to get the money back and go on our on tour.  Plus it was 7 o'clock!  The guy did not want to give E her money back!!!

I thought there was going to be a brawl right there.  The guy started yelling at E like I've never seen a man yell at a woman.  I stood there with my mouth open!  E gave it right back to him!!!  I loved it!!!  

She won. She got her money back.

but, if you're in Hollywood, I would think twice about taking one of those tours.  Especially a limo.

 We drove around until we found the Hollywood sign!

Today?  I think we're gonna bike over to Venice Beach and see some really good stuff!

Then tonight?  Leaving for Aussie!

Trip!

We're here!!! Staying for 2 days in LA at a FAB hotel looking over one of the harbors of LA.

the 4 1/2 hr. trip was worth it!

this young man is the smartest and sweetest kid I know.

I told him he should apply for Jepordy (see I don't even know how to spell it!)

He filled my head with all kinds of trivia!!!

"E" is camera shy but I can catch her every now and then.  We got in a good 2 movies on the trip

 Had a wonderful dinner here last night

 Did someone stick a stupid stamp on my head yesterday?  Don't ever wear shoes like this through an airport.  E stands at 5'9" so I was determined to be as tall as she is.

Today?  Back to my Dr. Scholls.

We will be here for 2 days then on to Aussie

Can't wait for our adventures today.  AND, I am completely rested!

Today?  The Sequoia Trees, and I've got a suggestion that I'm going to make when E wakes up!!!!

Dreaming

I woke up this morning and I'm sitting here in awe.

Dreaming of where I'll be next week!  I have 3 young couples here sleeping peacefully and I can't wait for them to wake up and chat away (and take a few pics)

My impending trip.

I am the luckiest girl in the world.  To have a friend let you "tag along" on a trip of a life time is, well, just mind boggling.  I've told you many times about my friend "E", but she's outdoing herself with this one!

I cannot even tell you how excited we all are.  I'm one of those that just "goes with the flow".  Tell me where to be and I'll be there.  Not great at planning things out for myself, but I'm a trooper when you give me a task or tell me what to do.

This trip is truly going to be unreal.

First LA for 2 days, then Sydney for I'm not sure how long, then train rides, jeep rides, and then flying to the Great Barrier Reef.  We are staying at a spectacular little hotel.

You know what I'm really happy about?

"W" is so excited for me to be going on this trip!

What a wonderful husband!

I will be blogging everyday to have a journal of my trip (that is if I have internet).

A Nice Little Surprise!!!

I leave for Australia in exactly 35 hours and 12 minutes to be exact.

AND!

E had a little surprise up her sleeve!!

We are stopping in LA for 2 days to break the trip up!!!

(last time I was there I tried out for Wheel of Fortune)

how exciting this trip is going to be!!!

Sydney, trains, jeep rides and to finish it off a wonderful trip to the Great Barrier Reef at a FAB hotel.

We are both struggling on the packing issue since we will be in two different climates.

Action packed 3 weeks and I can't get there soon enough.

How do you tell your best friend thank you enough?

I really can't find the words.

I told her I'd be painting paintings for her for the rest of her life!!!

I will blog EVERY day because I want to remember every little bit of this wonderful gift!!!
