I'm headed to Nashville for the art show

My car is packed to the rim....I mean seriously folks, I don't even know how "I" fit.  I'm now in Birmingham after my fun shopping excursion in Atlanta with did I mention one of my favorite people in the whole wide world? E.  We found some really cute things...but no new Manolos :( wait, I think "E" found some! OMG they looked fabulousa on her.... jealous....(I know "W" is so happy to hear that I didn't find those gold shoes I'm still sobbing over)
Anyway, I'm here for a "sip and see" for Baby Bitt (who by the way is now a whopping 10.3 lbs.! and Ever's two yr. birthday party.  She's already gotten this from Elizabeth who is WAY too generous.
Evey was absolutely bouncin off the walls when I walked in with both arms packed full of goody bags filled with gifts from Elizabeth.
Thank you my sweet friend!
and!  we finally finished Lil Bitt's room.  I wish you coulda seen me carrying this giraffe through Brookwood Hospital.  I saw it when my mom was there (who is doing great by the way) and just thought it added the finishing touch to his room.  We still have to stain the frames and put some cute pics in there, but for the most part, we're done!
I feel like I'm never home.  Wait,,,,I AM never home.  I have this, well, I'm calling her my new"assistant" and thank you Lord!  She takes care of my house, and...she even cut and highlighted my hair the other day.  OMG she is wonderful and I'm saving her for another blog!
Anyway back to Nashville.  Not to sound redundant, (because I know I've pounded this in your head a million times!), but....The MBA (Montgomery Bell Academy)'s annual art show starts Tuesday.  If you live in Nashville, consider yourself invited.  I will be there Tuesday night and it will run for 3 weeks.  I won't be there the entire time, just Tuesday night.   Along with 7 of my very bestest buds.  I am so excited to see them and spend time with them that I'm about to bust a gut! Don't worry, you WILL see pics.  I promise.  haha!
Anyway, I'm down to 16 paintings that I'll be showing.  I've sold four before the show even starts!....can I get a
"whoop" "whoop"!
Come see me!  in the meantime...these two are officially "off" the market.
My two favorite paintings have found a new love.  And I am SO excited for them!!

Have a wonderful, blessed day ya'll!

Turtle Burgers and Deep Fried Mac and Cheese Balls

Let me just tell you how many calories we consumed last night...
You've all seen those little big "turtle burgers" floating [no pun intended] around the Internet huh?
WELL.....I decided to make a really big FAT meal in honor of the FULL moon last night.
Boy were we all FULL after it.
We had such a wonderful time with good friends. We sat and ate and watched as this beautiful scarlet and yellow moon rose from the lake.  It was truly beautiful.
okay, now to the food.
WOW.
this is the finished product (or should I say project?)
we were lucky,,,,we didn't need a defibrillator
(we did need some Lipitor and Zantac however)
here the meal was on the plate with a deep fried macaroni and cheese ball.  I threw in some grilled asparagus um, well, just to be healthy.
Here's how to do em.
First, this is what cha need
First, you need a lot, and I mean a lot of ground chuck.  I used about 5 lbs. for 10 folks
I added some chopped up garlic (for health purposes)
smash em into a circle
then add the dogs to these little puppies.  What cha do is take one dog and point the tail, then smash it into the center of the burger.  Then take two dogs, cut them in half and then half them down the middle.  Be sure to slice the feet (3 of them ) for looks.  Smash those into the meat at an angle.
Then, smash another patty on top of the previous one.  Be sure to smash down the sides and sort of "tuck" the hamburger meat into the other meat.  Does that make sense???  You basically don't want them coming apart.
then add the cheese (I used Velveeta slices).  I probably would just use regular cheese if I make these again, (which I really think I will!) I think the Velveeta melted too much.
then the final fat free moment.......wrap these suckers in non the less.......bacon.  OMG
(you actually weave the bacon around the turtle burger.)  Aren't they cute?  Isn't your mouth watering and your stomach growling (or grossing out one)
Alrighty,,,,stick some toothpicks in the legs to secure, and loosely wrap them with foil.  Cook them at 400 for 30 - 40 minutes. (that's at least what the recipe says.)
What I learned?????? 30 - 40 minutes don't cut it...It's more like an hr. or so.....Also, you need a deeper pan. We had a grease fire.....(which was fun with 10 people there) Take the foil off towards the end and let them brown.  I think the bacon coulda been a little crispier.
Now,,,,,on to the deep fried mac and cheese balls.  EASY
But...you need a deep fryer.
Mix these ingredients:
1 lb. cooked elbow macaroni
2 cans cream of celery soup
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup parm. cheese
Let that refrigerate overnight
this is what it looks like at this point
then roll em into baseball size balls.  Dip them into 3 mixed eggs and roll them around into some bread crumbs
And,,,,they look like this!
then deep fry them (that's the really easy ....and smelly part)
and enjoy your night with friends

we had such a wonderful time!  and truly the burgers were delicious!  I will definitely make them again.  And they make for great convo.
Now, I'll leave you with this.  Okay, I was all ready for bed last night and walk into the bedroom to this.....that's MY side of the bed......
later, ya'll!

Sometimes I wish I were a man.....

Or is it "was" a man?  Okay that's gonna bug me all day.
You know why I wish I were was a man?  Because when their favorite shoes go out on em they just take em to the shoe shop.  (or go buy the same kind).  Because they can....
(and they don't wear gold shoes)...at least no one I know does.
My old faith fulls have lost their oomph.  HUMPH.....
Even my sister said, "Kendall, those things have gotta go"
I CAN'T! NO PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME THROW THEM AWAY!!!
Shoes only a mother could love.  I've had these for 6 yrs. now.  They've walked the streets of Europe with me, they've been there for the wedding of my oldest daughter and the births of my two grandchildren.  They've hiked the rocky roads of some neighborhoods, gone to Scott Antiques with me, been to the Atlanta Mart a multitude of times.  They were even there throughout the building of my home and have a very special nook in my closet in their honor.  They've taken me to Napa, San Francisco, New York, San Diego, the Bahamas, toured the Abacos, gone on cruises with me,  even climbed the Himalayas (just kiddin).... they've taken me SOOOOO many places.  Please don't let me give up on them.  I'm going to try my last ditch effort and gold leaf them myself.  I'll let you know how that turns out.
In the meantime, anyone out there know a good shoe shop? Cause all of my shoe doctors say they can't be revived and that I need to pull the plug.
R.I.P. ? my favorite Manolos.

Lil B and EA-the difference between an amateur and a professional

I know I told you about sweet Elizabeth Ann King before and her photography.
She is 15!!!  and just precious.  I mean seriously folks...when I say it's hard to photograph a newborn, I'm serious...it's REALLY hard.  I think I'm going to do myself (and you guys) a favor and take a photography class.  Much deserved (I think since I try and try), and needed.
Now, here are MY photos...

and here are EA's photos.
See the difference???
I wanna be a pro like EA!

Dadgumit! and some new pics of Lil Bint

On two counts! Dadgumit!
Now in the "urban dictionary" (or if you're from the South) "Dadgumit means dadblastit, dadgum, darnit, dadburnit, and gaul-darnit..
I'm just gonna say it.
Dadgumit, Dadgumit, Dadgumitttttttt!
My mom's back in the hospital.
Her wound just won't heal, so they had to open er back up and stick a vacuum in there. Hope you're not eating breakfast.
My mom said "think it's like a real vacuum? Well, I jokingly said "sure mom" they're gonna attach a Hoover on your leg.  Well,,,,,we found out, it's actually sorta like that. ewe.
They're also doing cultures to make sure there isn't any staff.
ergggggggggggg, she'll be there til Tuesday
Dadgumit!
On another Dadgumit, I got to listen to and meet this wonderful legend.
He said "Dadgumit" probably 30 times tonight!
What a great man and SO entertaining!!!
um, in case you don't recognize him, he is THE Coach Bobby Bowden.

Now....I have to leave you with some dadgum cute pics of Lil Bitt.  I will tell you, I have a new respect for those photographers out there that photograph newborns.  It ain't easy.  AT ALL
Sorry Eric, but I think he might be yelling "Roll Tide" We're number one!!!!
I'm a-okay
and snuggling with Aunt Boo.

Please say a little prayer for my mom.   She is the most dadgum positive person I know!
(and that is what Coach Bowden preached about tonight)
it makes all the difference in the world!
Later ya'll!
