Well, sometimes you just totally screw up a meal.
I'm serious. A TOTAL screw up.
I decided to try to make one of my favorite dishes from a restaurant in Birmingham, AL
The Bright Star
The recipe is their Greek Steak.
so, I decided to try and re-create it.
A FAIL of epic proportions...
Here is what I did.
I used these ingredients. (Should not have used the butter and not sure why I did!)
I dumped it all in there.
and got this. I tasted it, and it tasted just like I wanted.
At The Bright Star they use really thin rib eyes.
Because I used that butter, I needed to melt it more.
then I put it in a baggie and marinated for 2 hours
After over cooking, this is what it looked like. It was really bland. So I wouldn't recommend making this! haha!
The peppers were however very good.
now for what did work!
dessert.
Raspberry Sorbet
use these ingredients
Dump a bag of frozen raspberries into the blender
Add 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
use your little plunger and mix on high for about 2 minutes
I added mint, but you don't have to.
Add a little whipped cream and enjoy!
This was really yummy.
As I'm enjoying mine though, I asked W if he liked his. His comment?
I don't really like mint.
Hello?
I have been married to this man for 33 years.
How did I not know this?
smh...
