"ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?" AND a giveaway??????

I'm feeling VERY generous.  AND SO ready for football to start.  Is anyone out there with me on that? Can I get a "Heck Yeah?" Summer has taken it's toll and I'm ready for fall, the smell of a freshly cut football field.  I can just smell it right now as I type.  Chills run up and down my arms!
SO....in honor of my favorite team.....I'm giving away 3, yes THREE of these!!!
like I said before,,,,no not my son, or Joe Namath.  What they are however, are signed and numbered artist's proofs of my print "Missing Bear".   I sell them for 129.00 each and just have the urge to give 3 away!.
This is the original which is hanging in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame
It's not for sale
however.....they do have the rights of the 400 - 500 signed and numbered prints which are priced at 49.00
if you are interested or are are interested in visiting the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame here is the website
www.ashof.com
it is an AMAZING place to visit!
Now, this is how I'm gonna do this.  I'm going to keep this goin til 12:00 noon EST on Sat. Sept. 4th (in honor of the big day of football)  Even if you're not an Alabama fan (or Bear Bryant fan) I bet you know someone who is and it would make a great gift!!!
Oh, they are 30 x 30 and come with a certificate of authenticity.
They are also copy written.
Just make a comment, any comment will do, but you may only comment once.  And please be sweet if you are not an Alabama fan.....don't really want any fights on my blog :)
I am going to randomly pick 3 comments, so 3 people will win!!! I'll mail em out on Monday.
PLEASE be sure to include your name on your comment!!!
Good luck ya'll!

I'd love to give this to my dad to show how much he really means to me... plus my brother got my dad an autographed Joe Namath Sports Illustrated, and I gotta do something better than that... big time Bama fans in this house.
We also live in South Bend, Indiana smack dab in the middle of Notre Dame country :( and this would be perfect for my dad to put on display at work!

  18. I know it's going to be hard to pick just three of these! My father-in-law would love to have one of these prints in his Alabama Room. He's been working in Haiti since a week after the disaster hit, trying to help rebuild the American embassy and help put everything back together again for those people who have no help. I think he really deserves one of these and would appreciate it greatly and be very honored to have one. Thanks,

  19. Those are Awesome, I remember the day he passed, I was in 6th grade and they came over the PA and Said he had died, it was total quietness all over my school. Some people even began to cry. I have a number of News clipping to hang in my new home but that is one Awesome picture that would look just Awesome in my guest room. Yesterday was my birthday and this would make me an awesome gift as well. I work with special needs kids and one of them is a great arts, and he is always drawing me things, I would love show it to him, only thing he is a gator fan. 22. This print is beautiful! It would look FANTASTIC hanging proudly in my home! I have been a BAMA fan since I was a child - runs in the family. Practically everyone in my family has attended the UA and many of my family members work there as well. Such a wonderful school with an overwhelming legacy. My husband also attended the UA and was not a football fan when we met, but just one season later and I am now married to a die-hard fan! Our four year old daughter is SO EXCITED about the game on Saturday - she can't wait to wear her UA Cheerleader uniform!! From a very young age she could tell you that the elephant says "ROLL TIDE!" This time of year is so magical - crisp fall air, Yea! Alabama! playing, Golden Flake chips with a Coke, Eli Gold on the radio, and the Crimson Tide dominating on the field! ROLL TIDE my friends, ROLL TIDE!

  23. My name is Rebecca Seaman. I have been an Alabama fan since I was old enough to talk. I remember watching all the games on tv and watching the Bear Bryant show with the coke and golden flake chips. I would keep news papers of all the wins and I loved the "315"win and the 3 second field goal by Van Tiffin but I lost everything when my mother's house burned. I would really love to win the picture and have something of the Bear.

  24. What an awesome way to to remember the "Bear"...
I was born with BAMA in my blood...my Dad is from Haleyville, Alabama...what can I say but ROLL TIDE...It would be an honor to grace our home with your painting...My husband and I are HUGE college football fans...and truly the "house divided"...Alabama & Georgia...we will kick off the season by pulling out the smoker for some BBQ...
Alabama's game on September 11th will bring back memories of Bear Bryant when we play Penn State...those were the games to watch...Although, on that day our coach and team will be ready...one thing will be missing and this is Bear Bryant..

  26. I happen to be an FSU Seminole, but if anyone was at the game in Jacksonville in 2007 and looked over at the Marching Chiefs, you would have seen a girl in uniform holding up a sign supporting one of the Bama players...that'd be me ;)

Over the past 4 years, Alabama has become my #2 team (nothing will ever top my Noles, sorry!) because of watching one of my friends play - P.J. Fitzgerald, the punter that made that awesome tackle during the SEC Championship game last year against the Ga(y)tors. He's just graduated with a Masters degree and a National Championship ring, and I think it would be SUPERB if I could give him something like this as a gift for his upcoming marriage.

Regardless, thank you for creating this beautiful piece. Just seeing it this morning has me even MORE pumped for football season (is that even possible?!). I will still be cheering for Alabama, even though my friend is no longer on the team, and hope this season is even better than last ;)

Weeks before he died we were aware he was beginning to make the journey because he kept visiting with people we could not see but had passed into heaven years before. 41. Wow! How wonderful of you do give away 3 of these beautiful prints!!! Any Crimson blooded AL fan would be thrilled to win it. We took our granddaughter to her first AL game when she was 10 1/2 months old. She cried the entire first half but true AL fans are born to love BAMA!!! The second half she learned how to shake her hands in the air and yelled "Woll Tide" which were her 2nd and 3rd words by the way! She stood in her mother's lap the rest of the game and screamed as much as anyone else in the stands!! She is 6 now and has a hounds tooth skirt and BAMA jersey she wears to school. She loves AL as much as any of us! She still screams as much as any fan at the home games. This would be the ULTIMATE birthday present for her! Thanks for reading this. Suzy Cook, McCalla

While swimming will always be my favorite sport, ALABAMA FOOTBALL is now a close second! I've learned 3 things since my arrival: Saturday swim lessons never "make" during football season, anything connected to ALABAMA FOOTBALL makes a great fundraiser and teaching new swim skills are easier when connected to a football reference...all our swimmers learned to breathe on their side thanks to "ROLL TIDE ROLL!" Your inspiring print would be a great fundraising item, IF we can "bear" to part with it ;)

  82. I have been an Alabama fan all my life. Alabama Football is a Southern point of honor, and that can never be taken away by anyone that would like to paint us southerners as lazy, uneducated, hateful, louts. Anyone who remembers "Bear" Bryant knows that he was an icon of what a country boy can become. He accomplished a lot in coaching, but I am proud of the way he comported and conducted himself as a true southern gentleman. He showed a lot of us country boys how.

I'm just 23 years old but still a huge Alabama fan! Always been big into Paul Bear Bryant. He got us 6 national championship and 13 conference championships! University of Maryland, UK, and Texas A&M had him at one time but we got the best of what The Bear had to offer as a coach! ROLL TIDE ROLL!

  88. I am the only Alabama fan in my original family, by virtue of the fact that I "discovered" Joe Namath/Alabama when I was about 13. My husband is an Alabama fanatic ..you know, the "There will never be another bear Bryant!" type. I would love to give him this print; he has been so good to me for almost 25 years ... this is the best gift I could ever want for him. Marilou mlou821@hotmail.com

My brother in law is currently serving in Iraq for the third time and is possibly the BIGGEST Alabama fan I know (he even has a lego stadium replica of Bryant-Denny). He even went as far as naming my nephew as Bryant Denny. :) ROLL TIDE ROLL!

  98. I am a huge Bama fan...but am writing my comment to honor my boyfriend, BRAD, who's birthday is Oct. 6....& my adopted brother, Garlen...both are fans of 'PHENOMENAL PROPORTIONS'. They can discuss statistics dating back to the "BEAR" beginning...I wouldn't bet against their knowledge! I am a nurse. I was "Sir Bear's" nurse many times at the OLD* West Alabama General Hospital, Northport, AL in the late '70s. I'm still in awe that I had the privilege to care for such an humble man. 101. I found your blog by chance and am amazed at your talent. I met you briefly many, many years ago and knew then that you were somewhat a "notch" above us in the "gettin' thing's done" arena and I admired that. Why do I want your print? Because for many years I have lived in southwest Florida among Gators, 'Noles, Hurricanes, etc., and it's been tough. My kids are all Bama fans inspite of me marrying a Gator and frankly, Kendall, to have this in my office would ease some of my homesickness that I feel to this day, 26 years later. I also want it because you are a talented artist and you hit the nail on the head with the depiction of our beloved Bear. So there!
