Fall Gardening

Okay, if you've read my blog for a while you know I have a bad black thumb.
I can plant em, and they look great, but I just can't keep em lookin that way!
errrg.
Could it be that I haven't been home long enough to take care of the little babies?
I think that is probably the problem.  So, now I'm home for a while and can plant away!
and
our house is on the Reynold's tour in a little over a week, so I had to get busy with my containers!
so this is what I had to work with
first up, my precious antique planter (I admittedly don't know what this thing is called)
and this plant was still thriving and I couldn't bring myself to dig her up...

then I have this.  Found at Scott Antiques for 40 smackers.  I'm going to use it as a planter

then we have this.  Still thriving pretty well and omg it killed me to pull all of this out.
but I had to put them out of their misery before dying a long, slow death.

so, here's my fall container planting.  It's amazing what will fit in the trunk of a convertible.
It went from here:

and here:

I'm gettin there!  just a few dozen more pots to go!!!

tomorrow's blog?
a tutorial on how to make that Butterfly Chandelier that is floating all over Pinterest.
my version in progress:

thank goodness I ran out of fishing line because I would have never gone to sleep!
Level of difficulty: average.
Level of time: a lot.
p.s. after I got all the stuff to do this,  I checked on Etsy and someone sells a kit.
Sometimes I just shake my head at myself.

have a great day y'all!
I'm hitting that lil white ball today!  yippee!!!

  1. BEAUTIFUL plants!!! Kendall....you know i GREW up in the business of plants. WELL....I also have a black thumb!!! I LOVE plants and flowers, but just can't figure out why when I water them they just look.......lifeless. But when I'm out of town and come back after someone else has watered them, they are THRIVING and GORGEOUS!!!!! UUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!! BUT...someone told me recently to shake loose the roots (why have I NEVER done that?????). SO when I do my fall planting, I'll see if that makes a difference in my black thumb world ....I love love love that thing from Scott's (can't believe I've never been there either :(( )
