I Dream in Praline

um, that would be Praline Cheesecake....
a friend of mine gave me this recipe YEARS ago
Level of difficulty....ridiculous
Level of time.....long
Level of yumminess......omg
here's whatcha do....
Start by making the crust:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3 T melted butter
3 T sugar
Mix all of that in a cuisinart
and press with your fingers firmly in an 8" spring form pan
bake that at 350 degrees for 10 min.
while that's cooking wrap a present for a special friend!
I'm gonna do a blog on how to wrap (like I really know what I'm doin)
I actually got two in while that was cooking! who is this for????
sometimes I add one of my handmade egg ornaments to the bow!
 Now....for the batter:
3  8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese (room temp)
2 Tbs. flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together the cheese, flour and vanilla
add the brown sugar and eggs
 then mix in the pecans
Pour it on top of the crust
Bake at 450 for 10 min. then cut the temp down to 250 and bake for 50 - 60 minutes.
(It should be separating from the sides)
let it cool on a cooling rack
take the spring form pan off
take a plate and set it on top of the cheesecake.  This is upside down because you then turn the plate over and remove the bottom of the pan
this is what it should look like
then put your serving plate on top of the cake and flip that over
 Now for the icing:
1 stick of butter
1 box of Light Brown Sugar
add milk as needed 1 T at a time
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups crushed pecans
Melt the butter in a heavy pot
Add in the brown sugar stirring frequently.  You will also need a couple of tablespoons of milk
boil on medium heat until a soft ball forms when put in a glass of cold water
at that point you will take it off the stove and set the pot in some cold water.
Add the vanilla and beat the heck outta it
Pour the icing on the cake and then add the crushed pecans
 are you salivating yet???
you know what?  This was supposed to be a gift....but I couldn't resist!
Later y'all!

  4. YUMMY!!!! I just might attempt this for this weekend....hummmm, just remembered my mixer is in Dothan, not here in Bham. Well, maybe Cheesecake Factory will have one!!! BUT not as pretty and as good as yours!!! Also, I believe I recognized the gift wrap, from school sales:))) I LOVE the wrapping paper I buy from students. It's THE BEST!!!! Have a great week:) I again won't get Christmas cards sent (my last of 3 weddings in 4 months was this past weekend:))))BUT when I get anything sent (maybe for New Year's) I'll also send the one from LAST year!!!hehehehe (I ordered my usual picture card and never got them sent:) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!
