Wait! Don't buy that cape!

Make it!!!
What do you do when you wake up and the clock says 5:30 then you get your coffee, you fold some clothes, you get on your computer and the computer says 2:30.  OH NO....it's gonna be a rough day.
Anyway, that's what I did this morning..... then I couldn't go back to sleep.  So, since I couldn't go shopping, I decided to SAVE some money and....SEW.
I went back to my fave store yesterday (Gail K) and bought this darling little Ralph Lauren plaid wool.
One day I'm gonna take my camera in there just to show you this place.
Let's just put it this way, it's somewhere you don't wanna be if it catches on fire.
You would Never get out.  Okay, I'm digressing (my new favorite word) again.
Back to Wait! Don't buy that cape!
Here's the pattern:
and yes,,,it DOES only take an hour
Let me just tell you....the hardest part about this pattern was waiting in line at the checkout counter....
Here's the finished product....
ta da!!!
can't you just see this with a cream colored cashmere turtleneck, skinny jeans and those Tory Burch leather boots???
and the best part???? It only cost me 75 smackers!  Not bad!
a few tips....that is, if you want it to look professional.  Just make sure those corners look good and clean and meet.  Oh, and if you're using a plaid make sure the plaids match before you cut it out.
Now if I could just learn to make those Louboutins I want.....
hum.....

  2. Do you know that my jaw hit the FLOOR at work when I saw this!?!?!? Oh. My. Gosh. I think that would meet runway criteria!!! Kendall, I cannot believe this- it truly is absolutely beautiful!!!

And your comment on my blog... I feel like I won the lottery!! Update: We went to pottery barn and bought another seagrass rug but I think it's too big. I told Wesley last night that I wanted my desk to go out and far, far away. It's just wayyy too cluttered in there with two. And i'm thinking a LARGE cork board on the wall... and I want to either cover a chair or something like that. Also, found some curtains on west elm..... Humm SO many thoughts! Maybe I should FB message you?? hah!
